Peek

A quick look at a link without leaving the page or opening a tab.

⌥-click a link and it opens in a window over the page, with the page dimmed behind it. A strip under the toolbar shows its title:

• Open in Tab (⌘↵) keeps it as a tab of its own, next to the one you were on, without loading it again.
• Close (Esc, or ⌘W) puts it away.

Esc closes the peek until you click into it; after that, Esc goes to the page (to close its menus and dialogs), so use Close or ⌘W.

Switching tabs or opening a panel closes the peek. A peek from a forget tab is a forget tab too.

In other browsers, ⌥-click downloads a link. In Litr, right-click the link and choose Download Linked File for that.
