Highlights and notes
Mark what matters on a page, add a note if you like, and find it again later.
Highlighting
Select text on a page and press ⇧⌘E (Edit → Highlight Selection). The text turns yellow and a strip under the toolbar offers a note: type it and press Enter, or click Done. Undo takes the highlight away again.
When you come back to the page, its highlights are there again. Litr finds them by their text and the words either side, so they survive small changes to the page, different spacing and text split across styles. If the text is gone from the page, the highlight stays in your list.
Forget tabs keep no highlights.
Finding them
- The command palette (⌘K) finds highlights and notes by their words, shown in quotes.
- Show All Highlights (Bookmarks menu, or the command palette) lists them by page, newest page first, with a search field. Click a page to open it; hover a highlight and click × to delete it.
- Copy All as Markdown copies the list (or what the search found) as Markdown: a heading with a link for each page, the highlights as quotes and your notes under them.
Highlights stay on your Mac, in Litr's database.
