Command palette

Press ⌘K (View → Command Palette…) to open the palette over the page. Type to filter, pick a result with ↑/↓ (or ⌃P/⌃N), and press Enter. Esc, or a click outside the palette, closes it.

What you can do

• Switch to an open tab. Type part of its title or address.
• Run a command: new tab, close tab, pin, schedule, find, reload, back/forward, zoom, history, settings, toggle sidebar, focus mode, open location, and Create Web App. Each shows its shortcut.
• Open or search. The first result is what the address bar would do with your text: Open example.com, or Search DuckDuckGo for "…".
• Open a page from your history. Up to six matching pages are listed after the tabs and commands.

Pages open in a new tab, or in the current tab if it is empty.

Matching

Matching ignores case. A match at the start of a title ranks highest, then one at the start of a word, then one anywhere, then titles that contain your letters in order with gaps. For example, nt finds New Tab.

Memory

The palette is a separate small window that exists only while it is open. It uses about 16 MB while visible, and that is released when it closes.
