Notifications and the unread badge
When you're notified
The app shows a notification on your computer for:
- a direct message (unless you've set that conversation to only when I'm mentioned or none);
- a message that mentions you — by name, or with
@hereor@channel; - a reply in a thread you started or replied in;
- a reminder going off (Later);
- an agent waiting for you — for your approval or an answer (When an agent asks you). Clicking it opens the issue.
You're not notified about:
- your own messages;
- a message you can already see — the conversation or thread is open and the window is in front;
- conversations set to No notifications, or muted.
Clicking a notification brings the app forward and opens the message — in its thread, if it's a reply.
Per conversation
Click a conversation's name → choose:
- Notify me about everything
- Only when I'm mentioned
- No notifications
In channels, “everything” still means direct messages, mentions and your threads — Félagi doesn't notify you about every message in a busy channel.
The badge
The app's icon (Dock, taskbar) shows a count of what's waiting for you: unread messages in direct messages, unread mentions in channels, and what's waiting in your other workspaces. Muted conversations and those set to No notifications don't count. It goes down as you read.
Other workspaces and servers
Something waiting in a workspace you're not looking at shows as a dot beside the workspace name, and a count beside that workspace in the workspace menu.
Operating-system settings
If notifications don't appear at all, check that Félagi is allowed to notify in your system's notification settings (System Settings → Notifications on macOS, Settings → System → Notifications on Windows).
