Finding your way around

Finding your way around

The sidebar

From the top:

  • The workspace name. Click it for the workspace menu: switch workspace, add a workspace or another server, sign out of one workspace, open Félagi in the browser, settings, and sign out. A small dot beside the name means something is waiting for you in another workspace. See Workspaces and servers.
  • Search — opens the command palette (⌘K). See below.
  • Ask the assistant — the sparkle button beside Search, when your server has the assistant switched on. See The assistant.
  • Chat · Work · Docs — the three levels. Each shows its own list below.
  • The list for the level you chose.
  • The running timer, when one runs: the issue and the time. Click it to open the issue.
  • Your name — opens Settings.

Chat

  • Unreads — every conversation with something you haven't read, with a count.
  • Threads — threads you take part in, newest activity first.
  • Later — your reminders and scheduled messages (Later); the count shows reminders that are due.
  • Your sections, if you've made any — your own groups of conversations.
  • Channels and Direct messages.

Right-click a conversation to put it in a section, make a new section, or take it out of one. Right-click a section to rename or delete it. Sections are kept on this computer, per workspace.

A green dot on a direct message means the person is online now.

Work

  • My work — issues assigned to you.
  • Inbox — what Félagi wants you to know about.
  • Projects — the workspace's projects, and each one's page.
  • Meetings — the workspace's calendar.

See Issues and Meetings.

Docs

Your favourite pages, the teamspaces with their pages, and the trash. See Docs.

The command palette (⌘K)

Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K) or click Search to jump anywhere by typing:

  • a conversation by name;
  • a workspace to switch to — on any server you're signed in to;
  • Unreads, Threads, My work, Inbox, Search, Settings, Open in browser, Sign out;
  • Search messages for “…” to run a message search with what you typed;
  • and, when the assistant is on, an offer to ask the assistant when nothing matches.

Opening things in the browser

Open in browser in the workspace menu opens the same workspace in Félagi on the web. Links to Félagi pages, issues and projects that the app can't show itself open in your browser too.
