Later: scheduled messages and reminders

Later: scheduled messages and reminders

Félagi sends scheduled messages and fires reminders on the server, on time, whether or not the app is open.

Scheduling a message

Write the message as usual, then click the clock beside the send button and choose when:

  • In 30 minutes
  • In an hour
  • Tomorrow at 09:00
  • Monday at 09:00
  • Pick a time … for any date and time

The box empties and the app says when it will be sent. It works in a channel, a direct message and a thread (tick Also send to #channel first if the reply should go there too).

A scheduled message is posted exactly as if you'd sent it then: mentions notify, agents named in it are handed the issue, and it counts as unread for others.

Scheduled messages can't carry files — send those now, or remove them first.

Changing or cancelling

Later in the sidebar → Scheduled lists your scheduled messages, soonest first, with where and when each will go.

  • Change time — pick a new time.
  • ✕ — cancel it.

If a message can't be sent — you've left the conversation, it's been archived or deleted, or the thread is gone — it stays in the list as failed, with the reason, and you get a notice in the window.

Reminders

Right-click a message (or ⋯) → Remind me about this … and choose a time: one of the quick choices, or Pick a time ….

When the time comes:

  • you get a notification on your computer — clicking it opens the message;
  • a Reminder appears at the top of your inbox;
  • the reminder moves to Now on the Later page, and the Later count in the sidebar goes up.

The Later page → Reminders

  • Now — reminders that have gone off.
  • Coming up — the rest, soonest first.

For each:

  • click it to open what it's about;
  • Snooze — pick a new time; it goes off again then;
  • Done — clears it;
  • ✕ — deletes it.

If the message it was about has been deleted, or you're no longer in its conversation, the reminder says the message is gone but still reminds you.

Reminders are your own: nobody else sees them.
