¶Installation

¶From a release

Download the disk image from elyracode.com/eterm, open it, and drag eterm to Applications. The build is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so it opens without warnings.

After that, eterm tells you when a newer version is out and installs it when you say so — see Updates. It is free to use; a licence is a thank-you, and what it changes is described under Licence.

Apple Silicon only. An Intel build would need a second toolchain and a machine to test it on, and shipping one nobody has run is worse than shipping none.

¶Shell integration

It is what lets eterm fold command output, jump between prompts, colour the command line and know the working directory. zsh needs nothing done — eterm starts those sessions pointed at a ZDOTDIR of its own, and your configuration runs untouched. bash needs one line, and cmd-, → Shell will add it.
